World-leading 3D Movement Analysis

  • 3D modelling of your body
  • Captures motion data at far greater accuracy
  • Minimises human error
  • Enables pinpoint diagnosis

Here at The Medical we pride ourselves in keeping up to date with the latest diagnostic healthcare technology.

Our team of physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths use a state-of-the-art Movement Analysis System to deliver the most accurate analysis of the musculoskeletal system possible.

The system allows us to complete a motion capture and biomechanical analysis of your movement and posture and takes human error out of the assessment. Our 3D movement analysis system records key biometric information about patients including gender, handedness, age, weight and height in order to build a real-time, dynamic 3D model of their body, providing enhanced and validated accuracy.

Using the data from the analysis our team of experts can decide whether treatment is needed to correct asymmetries or if your movement is adequate to complete your chosen activity or goal.

Step-by-step

Set-up

Setting the system up takes less than two minutes.

Firstly, we will attach four sensors to the wrists and ankles. As soon as the user stands in front of the camera, they are detected automatically and the system is calibrated and ready to use.

Capture movement analysis

The practitioner will select a test, for example 'single-leg squat', and have the patient perform one to three repetitions. The patient can view their balance lines, joint angles and joint loading overlaid on a live feed, in real-time whilst the data is collected. Key results from the test can be displayed immediately including a range of results specific to each test such as right-left imbalance, range of motion, knee valgus, peak joint loads and many more.

All of this data is saved in the background, so the practitioner can immediately move on to the next test and repeat until the testing session is complete.

Report

With the click of a button, the practitioner can generate a comprehensive report, including snapshots from key points within each test, as well as key results and comments. From here next steps can be easily determined.
